Allyn Gardner is an Executive and Career Management Coach with proven success assisting clients to achieve optimal performance in their careers He works with clients who are either considering opportunities within their organizations or a transition to new outside opportunities and alternative careers. By the end of the engagement, clients recognize and articulate their goals, acknowledge their accomplishments, and lead with their strengths. He has coached those in management roles to successfully execute strategy and gain awareness and confidence in their own leadership style. He coaches emerging leaders and high potential employees to communicate effectively, bring positive motivation and engagement to their teams .
As a coach and facilitator Allyn engages and motivates his clients by employing self-assessment techniques, empathic listening, dialogue and exploring alternative perspectives. As a trained coach he focuses on proactive career management and provides his clients with a thorough understanding of career transition and career development strategies. He has facilitated workshops on numerous topics including; Self-Assessment, Networking Strategies and Techniques, Resume Writing, Interviewing and Offer Negotiation. As a corporate staffing professional for over twenty-five years, he is skilled in relationship management, talent selection, assessment and acquisition of executives for major corporations. Because of his deep corporate experience, he is able to bring the employer’s point of view to his coaching clients.
Allyn is affiliated with King and Bishop, a human resources management firm. He is a managing partner of Brookside Consulting Partners. In addition, Allyn provides interview coaching and resume development advice to MBA students at the Harvard Business School and Leadership and Career Management coaching to graduate and undergraduate students at Babson College. His pro bono work includes: Coaching with the Institute for Career Transition at MIT’s Sloan School of Management where he has helped long term unemployed professionals over the age of 50 execute job searches and overcome obstacles to their success. He has acted as a mentor with Conexion – an organization providing mentors to high potential Latino professionals. He has developed and delivered coach training workshops for management consultants of the New England Executive Corp.
Prior to starting his coaching practice in 2005, Allyn served in several senior staffing roles within Fidelity Investments starting in 1992. He developed and managed a program to recruit critical college talent for Fidelity’s Systems Company. He went on to staff executive level roles in technology, finance, marketing and a variety of administration and operations management positions. Prior to joining Fidelity he had numerous consulting engagements with companies in Technology, Software Development, Healthcare, Consumer Products, Financial Services, and Manufacturing.
Mr. Gardner is an alumnus of the American University in Washington DC with a Masters in Public Administration and holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is certified by the International Coaching Federation and is also certified to administer the DiSC assessment tool.
