Description

Our client has an immediate opening for a Director of Business Development. This role is key in building and maintaining strategic relationships with current and prospective customers to identify and implement growth opportunities in the medical device sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies for new and existing customers and market categories, leveraging company capabilities, market trends, and competitor insights
  • Drive consultative and solution-based sales to expand business within the medical device industry
  • Collaborate across teams, including Product Development, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Marketing, to develop and execute customer and category plans
  • Set and exceed sales, budget, and project targets, focusing on NRE opportunities and product expansions
  • Facilitate communication and support successful product launches, ensuring world-class execution and business expansion
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on forecasting, competitive information, and opportunity status
  • Participate in business planning and act as a key member of the leadership team to drive company growth
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, holding oneself and others accountable for delivering strategic business results

Requirements:

  • M.S. or B.A. in Engineering, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in business development within contract design and manufacturing for Class II and III medical devices
  • Proven track record of driving strategic product expansion and successfully selling to medical device OEMs
  • Strong network of senior-level contacts within medical device OEMs, with experience selling injection molding, design services, electromechanical, and single-use device assembly
  • Excellent leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and build strong customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business profitability and achieve top-line results in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • High integrity, passion for continual improvement, and strong business acumen
