Description

Our client, a non-profit organization, has an immediate opening for a Director of Finance. This role will provide accounting, investing, reporting, budgetary, operational, and programmatic support for all activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations
  • Develop budgets
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Report on financial results and issues to the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all Federal, State, and City regulatory filings including Form 990, Massachusetts Form PC, etc.
  • Oversee banking activities and actively manage cash flow to ensure the needs are met
  • Manage accounting internal control systems to ensure accurate and timely production of accounting information, tracking of restricted donations, and safeguarding of assets
  • Support the Development team in fundraising, including analysis and reporting for events and reporting for foundation and government grants
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and program coordinators to ensure accurate budgeting and monitoring of costs
  • Coordinate all audit activities
  • Other responsibilities as required

Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the non-profit
    organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 7+ years of experience in financial management and accounting
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of non-profit accounting and financial management, appropriate knowledge of tax laws and related issues and regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations, including federal and state filings and sound internal controls
  • Excellent people skills with experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Flexible and self-starter; able to manage multiple priorities while also being highly detail-oriented
  • Experience working with a diverse demographic of individuals
  • Past operational experience or operational leadership a plus as involvement and familiarity with various operational functions is valuable
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Past non-profit social services experience preferred
