Senior Controller

Our client, a highly respected, family-owned business is seeking a Senior Controller to work as an integral member of a terrific team! This role will lead the company’s accounting and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP
• Oversee daily accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, A/P, A/R, and the general ledger
• Responsible for cash flow management, sales tax filing, and financial statement preparation
• Establish and maintain financial controls to ensure accurate reporting and asset protection
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings
• Process bi-weekly payroll, including commissions, and ensure accuracy
• Manage employee benefits, including 401(k), health insurance, and PTO tracking
• Monitor cash flow to maintain working capital and ensure timely collections and payments
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and management processes
• Handle company insurance policies, including business, health, and workers’ compensation
• Manage commercial vehicle compliance, including registration and DOT filings
• Other responsibilities as required

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 8-12 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a senior role
• Experience managing small teams in a distribution or retail business preferred
• Strong understanding of tangible inventory in a traditional product-based sales environment
• Proficiency in MS Office. Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred. Strong technological aptitude required
