On Friday, the October 2014 Jobs Report came out. Brendan King once again sat down with Mark Ockerbloom of Fox 25 News in Boston to go over the details of the latest numbers.
In short, on the national level, the economy added 214,000 jobs in October 2014 according to the BLS report. When you look at the ADP Report issued on the prior Wednesday, small business once again had a leading role in new job creation with 102,000 positions created. The ADP report also indicated that medium business created 122,000 new jobs, a jump over last month’s 48,000 jobs.
Some of the big winners this month are leisure and hospitality, construction (who hasn’t driven by a crane at a worksite lately?) and professional and business services. As a recruiter in Boston we are seeing similar trends.
See what Brendan King has to say on Fox News about the October Jobs report as well as what on the horizon for holiday hiring.
And if your company is in the market for new talent, we’d love the opportunity to discuss your plans and how King & Bishop can assist.
